Could you imagine life without music?

Could you imagine life without music?

Even if you can’t sing, play an instrument, read compositions or even keep a beat, nearly every person is influenced by it! Music is the art of arranging sounds through audial, vocal, instrumental, written and physical elements. It’s not only one of the earliest forms of art but also of communication. Humans have been using music as a way to communicate messages which can be transmitted through various channels, such as singing, speaking, instruments, machines, physical actions and other ways to create sound. Once transmitted, receivers will send feedback.

And no surprise here: music is influenced by many contexts...the big one...culture! (Come on, you had to know that was coming.) Every piece of musical art is influenced by the cultural contexts surrounding the artist(s). Throughout history, music has evolved and changed, just like culture. However, the fact remains that music is an integral part of communication for every society.

How much influence does music play in your life? Let me know in the comments!
