Feedback and Responses

Interpersonal communication stimulates effects: mental, physical and emotional. The reason for these effects is the exchange of messages and feedback. When a message is sent, these are the different types of responses to expect: 

-Withdrawing: ignore what has been said 

-Judging: giving advice and/or making a judgement 

-Questioning: seeking more information or validity 

-Reassuring: confirming the sender’s message 

-Paraphrasing: rewording the sender’s thoughts or meaning 

-Owned: using I, me, my and mine
