What's in a Name?
A name is an identifier.
➖It’s how we refer to ourselves and how others can refer to us.
➖It’s unique to us. (Even if someone else on the planet has one or more similarities.)
➖It’s reflective of something (using that noun loosely) that is culturally significant.
Above all, it encompasses meanings. Just like culture, there are rules regarding names that we subscribe to in society.
Names are more than just names. There’s are millions of instances where names signify something culturally greater. When you hear a name, do you just think it’s a name, or is there more thought?
